Scroll Dream Mapper
A private, local-first dream narrative with seeded fragments, a live memory graph, scroll-reactive atmosphere, ambient sound, persistence, and journal export.
Scroll Dream Mapper
Scroll Dream Mapper is a complete browser-only narrative experience built around dream fragments and interactive memory nodes.
Current Experience
- Scroll-reactive color: the interface changes hue as the narrative is explored.
- Generated fragments: a control appends a randomly selected dream fragment.
- Memory mapping: visible memory nodes animate and are counted in the interface.
- Ambient particles: lightweight DOM particles create depth without external libraries.
- Memory graph: a live canvas network reveals recurring places and objects.
- Ambient sound: an optional synthesized drone is generated with the Web Audio API.
- Private persistence: the evolving journal remains in local browser storage.
- Journal export: the complete narrative can be downloaded as plain text.
- Reset controls: the narrative view and memory count can be returned to their initial state.
Roadmap
Possible future work includes persistent personal narratives, procedural audio, WebGL rendering, and behavior-driven adaptation. These capabilities are not part of the current prototype.
Artistic Direction
The project investigates how scrolling, repetition, and responsive interfaces can represent memory and subconscious experience in digital space.
